Homebuyers one step closer
to safer mortgage experience
OLYMPIA – Buying a home in today’s market can be a
scary endeavor. Last fall, the Governor’s Homeowner Security
Task Force analyzed the national mortgage crisis and made
recommendations for protecting homebuyers. Today, the Washington Legislature passed the first
measure of its 2008 session, a plan to spend $1.5 million on
financial literacy education and counseling for homebuyers.

from becoming nightmares. Today, the Senate passed significant legislation to
