Democrat: Term expires January, 2011

Elective Office: Senator to the 45th District, which includes Woodinville, Duvall, Carnation and parts of Redmond, Kirkland and Sammamish.

Legislative Committees: Vice Chair, Government Operations & Elections Committee; member of Early Learning & K-12 Education Committee; Water, Energy & Telecommunications Committee; and, Ways & Means Committee.

Education: University of Wisconsin-Madison, B.S., Computer Science.

Civic Organizations and Activities: Washington State’s Caseload Forecast Council; Kirkland Library Board; Hopelink Executive Leadership Council; inSPIRe Civic Action Group, Founding Member; and, Moral Politics, Creator and Former Host.

Recent Honors: King County Democrat’s Elected Official of the Year 2007; the Spine Citation from the Backbone Campaign

Personal: Eric and his wife, Mary, married in 2005. They have a 2-year-old son, Cray, and a newborn daughter, Cate.
