Biography
Sen. Eric Oemig is serving his first term representing the 45th District, which includes Woodinville, Duvall, Carnation and parts of Redmond, Kirkland and Sammamish. He is vice chair of the Government Operations and Elections Committee and also sits on the Early Learning and K-12 Education Committee, the Water, Energy and Telecommunications Committee and the powerful Ways and Means Committee.
Named Elected Official of the Year in 2007 by the King County Democrats, Oemig is a former member of the Kirkland Library Board and is an activist on children's health issues. A former Microsoft performance manager, Oemig has an interest in data driven and evidence based analysis.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in computer science, Oemig lives in Kirkland with his wife Mary, 3-year-old son Cray and 1-year-old daughter Cate. In his free time he enjoys playing the drums and guitar, hiking, running and playing and coaching softball.
